Privacy Statement
We want to assure you that your personal information is stored safely and never shared with anyone. Period.
You are in control of your information
By default, other than authorized HealthCPA management and your case manager, you are the only user who can view and edit your information. You can completely delete your information from the HealthCPA system at any time.
How Copay uses your information
We store your billing and insurance records for your convenience. Only your current billing and insurance correspondence are necessary to have on hand in order for our case managers to represent your interests to the hospitals and insurance companies.
HealthCPA may aggregate data to publish trend statistics and associations. For example, HealthCPA might analyze trend data around how many customer of a given health plan use a given hospital vs. a competing hospital. None of this data can be used to personally identify an individual.
How HealthCPA protects your information
Only the case manager assigned to your account has access to your billing and insurance correspondence, and the HealthCPA system is well equipped with safeguards that protect your personal data. Your data is never downloaded to local computers or transported on laptops or removable storage media. Our web server uses RSA public key authentication and the latest security patches to ensure that your information is protected.
HealthCPA and HIPAA
Unlike a doctor or health insurance company, Copay is not regulated by the Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act (HIPAA), a federal law that establishes data confidentiality standards for patient health information. This is because Copay Solutions does not store data on behalf of health care providers. Instead, our primary relationship is with you, our customer. Under HIPAA, you have a right to obtain a copy of your medical records. If you choose to use HealthCPA, we help you store and manage your medical records online.
Although HealthCPA is not covered by HIPAA, we are committed to your privacy and have in place strict data security policies and measures to ensure that you control access to your personal information. We let you know what information we collect when you use HealthCPA, how we use it, and how we keep it safe. You choose who views or adds information to your profile, and you can revoke access at any time.
